This is the method most Roku owners settle on: nothing to install, and channel-switching happens on the phone where browsing is fast.
Method 2: Screen Mirroring
Where direct casting is unavailable, mirror the whole phone screen instead. Enable screen mirroring on the Roku (Settings, then System, then Screen Mirroring), then trigger mirroring from the phone: Smart View or Cast on Android, AirPlay screen mirroring on iPhone. Everything on the phone, player included, appears on the TV. Slightly less crisp than direct casting, but universally compatible.
Method 3: Roku Browser Options
Roku's own browser situation is thin: the store offers limited third-party browsers with clunky remote-driven navigation. They can load the player, and some users make it work as a set-and-forget single bookmark, but the experience trails casting badly. If your Roku TV is your only screen, it is the fallback; otherwise the phone methods win.
